Fighting for Air

On March 9th, 2013, Pat Dollard, Brad Clouser, Jenny Kakasuleff, and I will be participating in the American Lung Association’s “Fight for Air Climb”.  This event, held at Regions Tower in Indianapolis, is put on to help raise funds that support the American Lung Association in their fight for healthy lungs and healthy air. Eighty-seven cents of every dollar raised goes directly to the education, research, and advocacy in that fight.

The journey that we plan to embark on will be no easy task. For those of you who might not know, Regions Tower in Indianapolis is 35 stories tall. That is 768 steps. As members of the Corn Fed Spartans we plan to climb the stairs at Regions Tower not once, not twice, but THREE times. So the grand total was just tripled; 2,304 steps will be climbed that day by us.

This is where you come in. Each of us needs to raise at least $100 that will go towards the fight for healthy lungs and healthy air. I have personally upped the ante a bit. For anyone who so desires, for your donations, I will do 5 burpees for every $1 you donate. If you’re not sure what a burpee is by now, and you’re friends with me, then shame on you! If that is the case, ask and I’ll demonstrate one for you. These burpees will be recorded and placed on Facebook for verification that they were done!

That’s it. I ask that if you’ve personally been touched by lung cancer, asthma, second hand smoke, or emphysema; please consider donating to this great cause. And, if you haven’t been personally touched by any of those, but are a big fan of clean air, you should also consider donating!

I’ve made it pretty easy to donate by adding several links throughout the story here. I’ll make it even easier for you by adding a couple more links.
