What’s the purpose?

As my title states; this will be a chronicle of sorts – a timeline of events that have taken place in my life.  They probably won’t be laid out all nice and neat (at first), because in order to get to present day, I’ll have to fill you in on several smaller stories that have already taken place.  These smaller stories will come in the form of single blog entries and I’ll try not to get too far ahead of myself.  My hopes are to have you caught up on my life by the end of the year, that way next year I’ll be able to share stories with you live as they are happening!

As we go I will introduce you to people that have played a role in my life in some way or another.  Sometimes I will change their names to protect their identities.  If I’ve changed their name, trust me, you will be able to tell.  Some of you might even know the original names, and if you do, all I ask that you please keep that information to yourselves.

During my journey in this game of life, I have learned several important life lessons.  Again, like the key characters of this story, you will be able to tell when I am trying to share an important life lesson with you.  Please try to take something from me sharing these lessons with you.  They are being shared for some reason or another.  They will save you from headaches, heartaches or just plain frustrations.

Another thing I would like to do is help spread the Word of God.  I don’t want to come across as too “preachy” and I’m certainly not judging you if you don’t believe in the same God as I do, or any other deity for that matter.  Jesus Christ has played an important part in my life, and I would like to share that with you as well.  The last paragraph or two of each post will contain a verse from the Holy Bible.  I will then explain to you how I believe that verse and the story preceding it, go hand-in-hand.

With that said, the Bible verse I would like to share with you now comes from Jeremiah.  Chapter 29, verse 11:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
This verse lets me know that there is something more for me – there is also something more for you!  Regardless of what is taking place in our lives right now at this very moment, He has great things planned for us.  I feel that part of His plan is for me to not only share my life experiences with you, but also to help spread His Word – hence – the Chronicles of Shue!

John, I am not only impressed but, proud that you have decided to take heed to the advice given by those whom love you. Can't wait to read more and I know I'm in there and surprise me with a fake name or the real one, no need to protect me, I'm not afraid!!!! Oh, and I can protect myself. Love the first verse too 🙂 Keep writing. ~ Friendly Love, Keona ~

Ferch, This is a great idea. It's awesome how God will show us that he's still there for us even when we can't imagine it possible. Keep your head up,and things will only get better.
